Salome, who works as a maid. Who works hard for her family, standing in front of the frying pan all morning, her hands all dry from washing clothes, cleaning rooms. Salome’s lifestyle was not always like this.
Her Mom never learned to cook, until she was in her 40's. Her Mom never learned to wash clothes. Her Mom never made anyone’s bed that wasn't her own. Her Mom was a business woman -the owner of a pharmacy- with a big pay check. Salome had a maid, one to cook, to wash clothes, to clean rooms.
There was a robbery, the pharmacy had gone bankrupt. It was all gone. Gone, and it didn't come back. Her Mom had to learn to cook, to wash clothes, to make beds, and taught her kids. "You never know what you have until it's gone," she says, "Tables can turn."
